With 34 teams entered in the boys section and 28 teams in the girls section, this years West Champs is looking very competitive! Only time will tell if defending Chmapions Munro College (boys) and St. Elizabeth Technical High School STETHS (girls) can hold on to their titles!
Quick notes/ updates:
1. On Thursday February 12 the main sponsors Nestle Milo had their official launch of West Champs at the Jamaica Grandiosa Hotel in Montego Bay. There will be a record 34 teams participating in the boys section of the Championship and a record 28 teams participating in the girls section. Only one new school this year St. James College (not to be confused with St. James High School the DaCosta Cup champions)
2. The Boys eliminations will be at STETHS in Santa Cruz on Tuesday February 17th
3. The Girls eliminations will be at Herbert Morrison, in Montego Bay on Thursday February 19th.
4. The combined grand finals will be on Saturday February 21st at STETHS due to the unavailability of the Catherine Hall sports complex in Montego Bay which is being upgraded.
5. Mannings School will not be participating this year.
6. There are 42 high schools in the county of Cornwall eligible to participate in West Champs all of which are affiliated to COCAA (The County of Cornwall Athletic Association) the organisers of West Champs).
