COCAA's new executive

Congratulations to the new executive!

The AGM held on Thursday October 6th at the scenic International University of the Caribbean’s Montego Bay campus saw a changing of the guard with the president Eldimire Smith stepping down after 12 years at the helm and vice president (Administration) Rudy Robinson not seeking re-election due to work commitments.

In a message from Eldimire Smith who was absent for the meeting, he wished his replacement all the best, and in typical business like fashion proposed that the new executive consider adding the following events to the Western Championships;
·         Class 4 boys 100m hurdles
·         Class 2 girls 300m hurdles
·         Class 2 boys 400m hurdles
·         Class 1 girls and boys 400m hurdles. These four events are to replace the current 400m hurdles open events.

The new executive is as follows:
·        President                   -        Stephen Smith (Grange Hill)
·        V.P. Admin               -        Keith Wellington (STETHS)
·        V. P. Technical          -        Claude Grant (Herbert Morrison)
·        Assist. V.P. Tech      -        Michael McIntosh (Green Island)
·        Treasurer                  -        Audrey Thompson (Mannings)
·        Communications
Manager                   -
Kerry Murray (Godfrey Stewart)
·        Event Manager          -        Linden Thompson (unattached)

Countdown to West Champs 2011

Preparing for West Champs!
Top : Coaches Bailey, McIntosh and Grant from Hopewell High, Green Island High and Herbert Morrison Technical High respectively discuss technical matters at the COCAA First Chance Meet held at Irwin High School in January 2011.
Middle:  National Champions Wolmers Boys School from Kingston traveled all the way to St. James to experience a rural style development meet! It's always good to see Kingston teams travel as the athletes from these schools do not see as much of Jamaica as rural athletes do!
Bottom: The Girls from Comets Juniors Track club are all smiles after their excellent performances at Irwin High School development meet.
